BRÖDET – Chloe Dancer (Mother love bone cover)

About children books

You receive an email from a Swedish trio named Brödet. In this email there is this line: “Last week we recorded and finished our first song in my bedroom and I thought maybe you’ll like it. We are inspired by shoegaze, folk music, house, post-dubstep and childrensbooks.”.

You remember when you started this blog, this kind of sentence was exciting like “great, a brand new band!”. You realize now it makes you scared like “what? Another brand new band which only recorded one song at home and wants to be part of the whole music circus and all?!”

In addition, the recorded tune is a cover, a cover from the “grunge” band Mother love bone. You think it is strange for a new band to send a cover in order to be featured in a blog.

Then you listen to the song. And the unexpected happens: this is actually a damn good one. No need to look for any trace of post-dustep in there. There is none. But, childrenbooks, yeah, there is actually some “childrenbook spirit” into that, with a slightly charming Swedish accent. I mean, the sound is “dreamy” if you know what I mean.

Don’t know much about the band though, except the three members are from Stockholm and are called Petra, Carl Christian and Jonas. And their future? Who knows? Let’s wait for their own songs…
