If you pronounce it fast in your itunes list, Norma’s Joan will sound like Norma Jean, i.e. the real name of Marilyn Monroe. Believe it or not, it makes sense. Cause if there is one band in Sweden that can be called “cinematographic”, Norma is the one. Not the Hollywood version of movies, with silicone, explosions and clichés. The real thing. Marilyn without her diamonds.

Praised in this blog when their debut record Book of Norma was released, the trio is back more than four years later with their second album called The Invisible Mother (out end of January 2013). Its first single, Joan, gives us a hint of what it will sound like. Maybe a little bit more accessible than their debut songs, still atmospheric, still unique, still accompanied with a brilliant video (I did not know its director Hedvig Jenning, but I will keep an eye on her). Let’s keep it simple: a great song and a great video that give me the envy to listen to the whole album.
